Recipe: Low-Fat Creamy Italian Dip

Have the benefit of this creamy and savory dip with current veggies instead of chips. Low in fat and sugar, it’s an unbelievable choice for these with diabetes — or anyone who loves a healthful summertime snack.


Makes 6 servings (serving dimension 2 to a few tablespoons)

½ cup part-skim ricotta cheese
¼ cup low-fat cottage cheese
2 tablespoons low-fat mayonnaise
2 tablespoons plain nonfat yogurt
eight sun-dried tomatoes, softened and chopped
½ teaspoon dried basil
Salt and pepper to model


In a meals processor or blender, combine all components and course of until simple.
Serve with raw greens or whole-grain breadsticks.
